Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in the influential clan could enable the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Planners tables.
Viewers can expect discovering which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
