Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
