I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
